When to Travel
Uganda enjoys a tropical climate with two main seasons: the dry season and the wet season. The best time to visit Uganda is during the dry seasons, which typically run from December to February and June to August. During these months, you’ll experience clear skies, minimal rainfall, and cooler temperatures, making it ideal for gorilla trekking, wildlife safaris, and other outdoor activities.
Currency
The official currency of Uganda is the Ugandan shilling (UGX). While US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas, it’s advisable to carry some local currency for smaller purchases and transactions. Credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and larger establishments in urban centers like Kampala and Entebbe.
